What are the moments people remember forever? A wedding day. A milestone birthday. An anniversary party. A retirement celebration after decades of hard work. A graduation. A family reunion. Even the corporate events where, for one night, everyone gets to stop working and simply enjoy being together. These are the days people talk about years later. The stories get retold. The photos get pulled back out. And over the last 27 years, I’ve watched live caricatures make those moments even more joyful, personal, and unforgettable. There’s just something about live caricatures that brings people together. People crowd around the chair laughing and watching the next reveal. Strangers start talking to each other. Families gather around. Coworkers loosen up. And at the end of the night, guests leave not only entertained, but carrying home a personalized keepsake from the event. That’s what I love about what I do. My name is Kathy Buskett and I’m a professional live caricature artist with 27 years of experience, including 10 years on the Las Vegas corporate event circuit where I drew at events for Samsung, Coca-Cola, and Cirque du Soleil. I’ve also worked at events alongside entertainers like Rihanna, AC/DC, Blue Man Group, and Recycled Percussion. Today I live on the Gulf Coast and travel throughout the region drawing caricatures at weddings, resorts, corporate events, festivals, and private parties. My style is fun, flattering, and fast. I draw people in a cartoony way that actually looks like them — not the mean kind people worry about. I’m also one of the fastest caricature artists in the world, drawing about 20–30 people per hour. That means more of your guests can get drawn and in many cases you don’t need to hire a second artist. And honestly, watching a caricature appear out of a blank piece of paper that fast is part of the entertainment. “Mesmerizing” is a word I hear a lot. But for me, this goes deeper than entertainment. My faith is very important to me, and I truly consider what I do a ministry. Every five minutes I get to sit across from someone new, talk with them, encourage them, make them laugh, and sometimes simply say whatever I feel God puts on my heart to say. That’s a privilege I never take lightly. For me, this has never just been about drawing pictures. It’s about creating joy, bringing people together, and making happy memories on days that matter most.
