Abiding Presence Faith Community

I have had the distinct pleasure and privilege of knowing the Most Rev. William R. Cavins for many years. He has offered words of comfort to me when I had doubts about my relationship with God. He has also been there for me when I had two personal friends in the same year pass due to the results of contaminated medications. He has made a difference in my life and helped me through some other difficult times that I have experienced. Life does have its challenges. One should not be afraid to seek counsel. He is a caring person who will try to ease your burdens, whatever they may be. I know he, and the good book, have made a difference for me and he may be able to help you and enrich your life as he has mine. Vaya con Dios.

In the early Christian Church there were two movements. One was to worship at homes and the other was to worship in buildings set aside for worship. Being accustomed to temples, church buildings became the norm. However, Abiding Presence has returned to the alternative and celebrates Mass in a Restaurant. The building of a faith community is a challenge and Abiding Presence is trying in many ways to meet the challenge. Worship is in the traditional (since 1962) Catholic way, hymns are sung, the Word is proclaimed, Communion is shared. My only negative comment is we sing too many verses of the hymn and having 2 Communion hymns is not necessary and takes away from personal reflection.
