I truly believe God has a way of putting the right people in your path at exactly the right time, and for me, one of those people was Tonya at Cutting Edge Fitness & Wellness. While on a family vacation, I slept on a Sleep Number bed and absolutely wrecked my back. After an ER visit and a spine specialist, I learned I had issues around L4-L5 that were causing severe sciatic nerve pain. As a small business owner and basically a one-man show, being unable to work can be crippling. No work means no income, and I didn’t have four to six weeks to wait around and see if things improved. Then I remembered Tonya from BNI. One “HELP ME” text later, and she was on her way to the rescue. Honestly, Tonya may need a cape. She came to my house, listened to what was going on, asked about past injuries, and immediately started working on mobility, stretching, and cupping. What we discovered was that the problem likely wasn’t just one bad night in a bed. Years of old injuries, tight hips and legs, limited mobility, and getting older had slowly caught up with me. What impressed me most was that Tonya wasn’t interested in giving me a temporary fix. She taught me stretches, wrote up notes, followed up with an email containing a routine to improve my mobility and range of motion, and continued checking on me afterward. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but within about two months I was feeling better and better every day. Looking back, I’m incredibly thankful God brought Tonya to mind when I needed help. She helped me realize that taking care of the body God gave me is something I need to take more seriously. 1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and sometimes we get so busy working, providing, and taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves. If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, old injuries, or limited mobility, I highly recommend Tonya and Cutting Edge Fitness & Wellness. She has the knowledge, compassion, and genuine desire to help people get moving and feeling better again. I’m grateful God put her in my path when He did. And Tonya… you still deserve that cape.
